They’re Sharks Fin Melons, otherwise known as Spaghetti Squash. I haven’t tried one yet, but I think Gary has been more adventurous !
They are a squash, growing Melons would be tricky, as we don’t have the climate to do it reliably, and they need lots of water. These had to fend for themselves.
